Terms and Conditions


Followmejapan.com.sg is a trading name of Follow Me Japan PTE. LTD. which is a private limited company registered in Singapore, whose registered address is at 16, Raffles Quay, #16-02 C/D Singapore 048581. These terms & conditions & conditions of use, constitute our agreement with you, the renter, for the services we provide in arranging for the supply of car rental. These terms shall apply to any booking that you, the renter, make with us on or through this website, so you should make sure that you are aware of their contents. Your rental of any car is also subject to the terms & conditions of car rental imposed by the car rental company and to the corresponding laws of the country and/or state in which the rental takes place. Individual restrictions may also apply to your car rental. Both our terms & conditions and those of the car hire companies we work with contain some exclusions and limitations of liability. 

We accept no responsibility for and shall not be liable in respect of any loss, damage, alterations, delays or changes arising from civil strife, industrial disputes including air traffic control disputes, terrorist activity, natural or nuclear disaster, fire or adverse weather conditions, unavoidable technical problems with transport, closure or congestion of airports or ferry ports, cancellation of scheduled flights or financial failure of airlines.

Your booking on this website is conditional on you accepting our terms. If you do not agree with any part of them, you must not proceed with your booking. By confirming that you wish to book a car through this website you, the renter, indicate that you have read and understood, and deemed conclusive evidence of your acceptance of these terms.


General Provisions


Conditions for Renting a Car – International Driving Permit & Passport 

Every driver must have a full, valid driving licence and International Driving Permit. Expired or provisional licences will not be accepted. When picking up the car, you, the renter must present your International Driving Permit and Passport. You must also keep your driving licence with you at all times throughout the rental, for perusal by local authorities. No refunds will be given if a car rental company refuses to supply a car because you cannot provide a valid International Driving Permit and passport.


Making Bookings

If you wish to make bookings on this website, we may ask you to supply certain data including, without limitation, credit card information and other personally identifiable data about you. You agree that all data that you provide for this purpose will be accurate, current and complete. Verification of submitted data may be required prior to our acceptance of any booking. Except as otherwise required by law or as otherwise expressly stated by us, price, rate and availability of products or services are subject to change without notice. You acknowledge that bookings are subject to additional terms & conditions imposed by us or by the car rental company which supplies your car.



Your voucher / e-Voucher will normally be available once full payment has been received and the car confirmed by the car rental company. Please ensure that you, the renter, travel with your voucher / e-Voucher, your full valid International Driving Permit and other identification.


Provision of Cars

Car rental company reserves the right to refuse a car to any person who is considered unfit to drive or does not meet eligibility requirements. We will not be liable for the completion of travel arrangements, nor for any refund, compensation or any other costs you may have to pay in such a case. In the case of breakdown or mechanical difficulties, you, the renter, must call the car rental company immediately. The car rental company must give authority for repairs or replacement cars. If you, the renter, are involved in an accident, the local police and the car rental company must be contacted. You should keep copies of all relevant documentation as this may be needed if you, the renter, wish to make a claim.


Daily Rate Calculations / Periods of Rental / Rental Extensions

The price of your car rental will be calculated on the basis of 24-hour units. If you wish to extend the period of rental after picking the car up, or drop the car off later than stated on your voucher / e-Voucher, the extra period will be charged for by the car rental company at the local daily rate, which may be higher than the rates agreed with us at the time of booking.


Late Pick-ups / Early Drop-offs 

Your rental starts and finishes according to the pick-up and drop-off dates and times detailed on your voucher / e-Voucher. Unfortunately, we are unable to provide refunds for unused time if a car is picked up late or dropped off early. If you are unable to pick the car up at the agreed time and date, it is essential you contact us as soon as possible. If you do not, there is no guarantee that the car will still be available, and you will not be entitled to any refund. 


Returning of Rental Car

You, the renter shall return the rental car to the designated place of return by the expiration date of the rental period. If you are unable to return the rental car within the rental period due to a natural disaster or other act of providence, you have to notify the car rental company without delay and follow the instructions of the car rental company. Indiscriminate return of rental car to any other outlets without prior consent of the car rental company is strictly prohibited and will incur penalty charge including vehicle forwarding expenses.


Child Seats

Children below the age of 6 are required by law to have child seats. There is usually a fee payable and this, and other requests, should be made at the time of booking.


Change of Booking

If You Wish to Make Changes to Your Booking

If you wish to make any amendment to your booking, you should contact us directly and we will then advise you on conditions, including the availability of the same car type and whether any charge is payable. It is only after you have agreed to the conditions that we will proceed to make the change. In some cases, such amendments may require the cancellation of the original booking and making a new booking.


If We Need to Make Changes to Your Booking 

Occasionally it may be necessary for changes to be made to your booking (after acceptance) by us or by the car rental company. In such cases we will advise you as soon as reasonably possible and, if the proposed changes are unacceptable, you will be offered a full refund. However, in such circumstances, we shall have no additional liability in respect of any direct or indirect losses you may suffer as a result of such changes.


Refusal of Rental

If any of the following items pertains to the you, the renter, rental may be refused to you or cancelled altogether:

If the renter

  • does not possess a valid International Driving Permit, International Passport and his/her country’s local driving licence;
  • is considered to be under the influence of alcohol;
  • is considered to show symptoms of being under the influence of narcotic drugs, stimulant drugs, thinner, etc.;
  • has a child in the car without a child safety seat;
  • is registered in the information management system of the National Rent-A-Car Association or registered on the renters watch list shared by Toyota Motor Corporation and Toyota Rental & Leasing Shops;
  • is considered to be a member of a designated violence group or organization related to such a group, or is deemed to belong to some other anti-social organization;
  • commits a violent act against or imposes a burden beyond a reasonable extent on an employee or other related person of the Company or uses a violent act or word, in connection with a transaction with the Company;
  • undermines the trust in the Company or interferes with business activities of the Company by spreading false information or using fraudulent means or force;
  • commits any act considered inappropriate by the Company.


Termination of Rental

If you, the renter or the driver has violated the terms and conditions during the rental period, the car rental company may terminate the rental without notice or summons and may request the immediate return of the rental car. In such a case, the Company shall not return the previously received rental fee to you, the renter.


Cancellation of Rental

You may cancel the rental either before or during the rental period by contacting us at drive@followmejapan.com.sg prior to cancellation.

Cancellation charges will apply as follows:

  • 4 days or more before car pick-up date: Free of charge
  • 2-3 days before car pick-up date: 50% of the rental fee
  • 1 day before car pick-up date: 100% of the rental fee
  • On or after car pick-up date: 100% of the rental fee

Days are counted based on calendar days according to Japan Standard Time (JST).


Data Protection

Your privacy is important to us. By using this site, you accept the terms of our privacy policy and consent to use of your personal information to provide our services to you and send promotional emails, quote chase and special offer emails.
